Star Wars A-Wing Kit Masters
Go Jump In The Tub...Cockpit Tub That is...
Waddya know, more stuff done. Wonders will never cease!
Okedoke then people, the cockpit parts are next on the hit list.
So the basic bits and bobs look like this.
Square would have been nice...Bye now!
The main tub got dumped except for the bottom of the pilots seat, still workable.
The shroud for the instrument panel and the part that goes behind the pilots head are ok so they make the cut this time.
The front of the coaming got sanded flat and hollowed out in prep for the lighting thing.
The main panel we will get to another time.
So to the cockpit tub.
The seat base was duly sanded down and attached to a plasticard sheet with some detail sheet stuff fixed to said plate.
Well the pilot figure is not without it's faults but it's a base to work from so...
Out with the plasticard and a frame of sorts was built up for the seat back which was non existent in the original parts.
Some epoxy putty later and we have summat to work with.
So detailing undertaken with the back, new side plates and front plate built and detailed.
All stepping's added so the lot sort of slots together.
Time for one of my elastic band helpers and a test fit of the parts.
And wouldn't you know it, the bugger actually fits!
No-one is more surprised than I.
Not a bad turnout, time for a dab of primer methinks.
OK, fairly happy with that, re-testing fit I think.
So a quick re-assembly, first as is then in position with the pilot figure body and the headrest original detail part.
Looks a bit better i'm a reckoning.
And that's all for now me merry lads and lasses.
You lot go easy and i'll see thee later!
