Then began a long winded task of laying the outer plating across the seams.
Made for a bit more details wise and hid the seams nicely.
So a worthwhile cheat if ever there was one.

The long strips were scribed then cut and glued into position.
Strips and extra plates were slapped on with wild abandon in some places to give the flat plates some depth.
All the manuvering thrusters and the dish antennas were push moulded
Plasticard heated with a paint stripping gun and a wood shape just pushed through the soft plastic and left to cool.
