Cheat point here.
The driver figures were Tamiya 1/12th racing driver
parts with some re-working then cast.
The heads were from the same kit and any old action figures close
to scale that had good head sculpts,
also re-worked then cast.

The cab has a full dashboard which is lit by a 4inch fluorescent tube.
Markings were self-adhesive trim line used by RC modelers
and good ole dry transfer lettering.
The only exception being the SHADO lettering on the side,
that was a mask and spray paint effort.

One big question that took a lot of fiddling about to solve was the paint colour for the Mobiles.
I knew it was a metallic blue but just what kind of metallic blue?
After more than a few tests to try and match the colour the reason
why it looked so different in some shots became clear.
The problem was the light reflection and
the ambient colour of the surroundings.

For example, I took my little Imai plastic model,
painted it then put in in different locations.
in a grassy area it was suddenly a green/blue, emphasis on the green.
Forested areas and it went brown/green with a hint of blue.

After much sodding about it finally settled down to this in the auto spray paints.
Vauxhall Metallic Steel Grey as a base coat then
dusted over with a Nissan Metallic Light Blue.
I have been told by a few officionados over the years that the
colour I painted mine is the closest they have seen.
I for one am not in a position to say yea or nay to that as I have never
seen one of the original models where as most likely some,
if not most of them have so I will simply take
their word for it and leave it at that.
