Painting on the figure was a combination of acrylic silver leaf, blackwash and rub-on alloy powder.
I found this stuff after a recommendation by a fellow modeller and gave it a try.

The upside is a VERY fine ground powder which when applied and continually buffed makes a very good
silver to chrome finish depending on how many coats you do.

Downside, apart from the loose powder in the air, varnishing or handling can run the risk of completely
ruining the finish so it was used sparingly.
