I cut the 4 rectangular panels in the saucer top, I dunno what they were there for but they seem to be lit up in the series.
When it came to the lighting up, I attacked this in two ways.

First was to mount the tubes, second was to work out the nav/running lights and the warp engines.
Sorting the tubes was easy as they had their own starter circuits that came from the torches I canibalised for this purpose.
The nav/running lights were on one custom built flasher circuit, the warp engines on another.
I didn't bother with anything to accurate when it came to the warp engine effect really.

One thing I do recall in very few scenes but I do know they were there so built it into this one,
there appears to be one flashing light either side of the engineering hull almost right at the back either side
of where the clamshell doors for the shuttle bay are and one on the spine between the warp pylons and the shuttle bay.

You can just about see it in this pic, the small dark mark at the back of the engineering hull.
The clear domes on the warp engines had to be vac formed specially
for this as kit only has one single piece dome.
