Long and sharp pointy things are of interest to some folks.

And I Happen To Be One Of Them Folk!

1982 issue kit.
Did one of these years ago for a friend who was in to things Japanese.
Never done one for meself so time to change that!

Just a quick build for fun and the why not dept.

A few bags of bits to keep me amused.

The rather required destructions.
All in Japanese but this Gaijin will muddle on through as always.

Plenty of plated parts.
Some will get used as they are with a bit of blackwash, others destined for a chrome stripping bleach bath and repaint.

The guards or Tsuba are nicely done.
Very sharp and ugly edge where the moulds joined but nothing that can't be sorted.

Detail parts are crisply done which helps.

Nicely done name plate.

The ray skin effect on the grip or Tsuba is well done.

This lot is certainly up for the stripping and paint dept.
Alclad is certainly going to get a look in here.

Scabbards or Saya.

Stand parts.
Nice enough but a few sink bits to sort.
The inset in the moulding's will get taken care of.

The weaved ribbon for the scabbards and grip binding.

So lets get started.
Grips assembled, brush painted in Vallejo ivory.
Then given a flory models mud brown wash, varnish sealed and dry brushed with the ivory.

Decorative parts with just a touch of Tamiya panel line black wash added.

Scabbards assembled and cleaned up.

Stand with defects sorted and assembled.

Onward to page 2 for the finishing run!
