It's going to be a long build...

But At Least I Can Get Some Bits Done.

Ok then gang, the decorative bits so to speak.

Now in the movie, our hero has a few bits he uses so why not add them in to the mix?
First is the biggest bit...
well what might pass for big in this case...
Just before the big boss fight on Planet Doom, Parzival calls the charge by playing the
1984 Twisted Sister track 'We're Not Gonna Take it' on a Sharp GF-7600 Boombox.
This one...

Well if it's good enough for him, I might as well have one.
Some severe polygon punching of the 90,000 plus range took place.

Them Boolean ops really kick up the count don't they?

I got the result I was more or less after...

And as per usual, went a bit overboard on the detailing for
something that isn't going to be huge in 1/8th scale.
Some 70mm or 2 & 3/4" wide to be a bit more accurate.

And an exploded view of the parts.

So after more than the usual amount of faffing about, passed it off to Shapeways for the 3D print lark.

Low and behold it passed the auto and manual checks...
which surprised the hell out of me...
and the printing deal was underway.

The days passed and the box-o-bits arrived at my door so time
to see if this was all worth the effort.

The volume and balance sliders didn't seem to be present but not a big deal.
A goodly scrub down to remove printing residue and a lick of primer later...

Yeah, I know I could have scratch built it but with my eyes and hands not working as they once were,
there is no bloody way in what's left of my lifetime I could have made it this sharp and clean.

A couple of minor rough surface areas to clean up, no biggie there.

A dry fit look see with most of the parts and have to admit, it made me smile.
1/1 Bottle cap for size reference of course.
