It would have taken 98 weeks to collect all the rest of the issues...

Bugger That Idea!

Welcome back all!

Well after canceling the subscription and getting all of the missing issues to make it up to issue 30,
time to bag the rest!

Eaglemoss did something right at just the right time
by having a percentage knock off their usual prices so I went a bit mental...
Well maybe more than a bit...

Anyway, from Eaglemoss UK, France and Germany with a little bit of assistance from Amazon Japan...

That's the lot up to issue 126, issues after that are of no use to me so onward!

Needed a few mods for this build as I go along so shot off to Mike Lane Mods,
and ordered up a few odds and sods.

All the little cosmetic bits got, so they got put in the box for later.

There's a few other bits I need but they will have to wait until the arrival
of my Form 3 SLA 3D printer to make that lot happen.

But first, the bodywork bashing routine!

All parts pulled and a red sharpie marker put to the dot and dash use.

There was much drill/grind/sand violence done onto them with gusto.
Gusto helps me out occasionally as he's good like that.

So those sorted, then to paintwork as such.

Alclad was the weapon of choice here and the airbrush got a workout,
gloss black as a base and then gone over with stainless steel.

Once that was cured, some Alclad light sheen varnish applied then a fine brass brush lightly stroked over all parts to put some of that brushed effect back on.

On to the next problem, the door interior panels.

Now I didn't take any 'before' photos so with the help of the internet,
here's what it pretty much looks like built stock.

In the 'sort of ok' category for, they are supposed to look more like this...

Well decided to cheat here rather than try to replicate the leather covering and stitching sodding about.
Decals!
Laser printed on white waterslide decal paper.

So first to fill and sand the groove lines and necessary holes after installing all relevant parts.

Once sorted then decal applied.

Done and sorted.

Other door parts painted and/or fiddled about with as required, then installed.

A lick of paint where necessary and some fake carpet for the bottom of the panels,
done by painting then sticking some 70 grit sandpaper on said panels.

Door top header panels also installed, screw holes filled then painted over the lot.
A coat of anti-shine matt varnish and it was a done thing for that.

Also I dabbed some Vallejo silver around the bullet holes just to give them a little bit more definition.

Then we get to the dirtying down.
Combination of black ground pastel chalk and black artists pencil,
al sealed with a light coat of the Alclad varnish.

This kind of lark expanded to the rest and relevant panels done so far screwed to the frame.

A bit of fiddling about with the stock parts...
Again!

The black brackets that hold the flux bands on the car got a look at.
Real deal ones look like this...

The supplied ones look like this...

So them straight outer prongs ned to be not straight.

Que yours truly holding the end of each one a couple of millimeters above a soldering iron tip,
counting to 15 and then giving the softened plastic a push over some 2.3mm diameter brass rod.

Repeat 18 times, a quick sand down, paint matt black and fit on where the destructions say to shove 'em.

Now they look like this.

Better!

So last of the main body panels attached.
Also the rear quarter marker lights are not fitted for LED's in this kit.

A bit of drilling/grinding, a couple of SMD LED's fitted and they bloody well are now.

Now the panels don't fit terribly well but that's no big deal seeing as this one has to look a bit beat up anyway.

My excuse, sticking with it!

Looksee a bit closer as a last pic block for this update.

A bit of bending and shoving of panels to do but getting there.

That's the lot for now gang!
Having to take a bit of time out due to family health issues and the 3D printer not slated to arrive for a few months,
about September time is the word so far so we'll see what happens there.

You merry mob go easy out there now and look after yaselves.
