It could be said I need to work on my body...

I'll Settle For Some Bodywork On This For a Start.

So time to consider the colour finish.
According to the instructions, The US export version of this only came in Royal Dark Red.
Well I could go along with that but putting my own spin on things.

As usual...

Went with Tamiya rattle can maroon as the base.
Then a couple of light coats of Inspire pearl silver lacquer on top
as a sort of metal flake kinda deal which seemed appropriate for a let 70's/early 80's bike.

Rear and front mudguards to start.

Both then got four coats of Tamiya rattlecan pearl clear and once cured,
A good going over with Novus number 2 fine scratch remover and the Novus number 1 plastic clean and shine.

About what I was looking for so on to the rest.

Front tyre done in the same way as the rear.
Front shocks/brake discs assembled, painted and decaled where required.
Front forks assembled and front wheel fitted along with the mudguard.

Rear frame for the saddlebags/touring box assembled and painted.
Rear mudguard fitted, rear light and licence plate holder likewise sorted and fitted.

Instrument clusters painted, decaled and assembled.
For frames also dealt with.

Front fork parts all brought together and front wheel assembly fitted to the frame.

Sweet!

Handlebars up next.
Basic paint and assembly thing.
The grip controls didn't have any decals in the kit but a bit of
slightly fiddly paintwork got that sorted to a standard that looks ok.

In place and all relevant piping attached.

That'll do nicely!

At this time, the paint shop got in to full swing!

Started with the saddle bags.
The usual decal fun with many a fall apart moment and much nudging of decal fragments back in to place.
But got there in the end as near as is dammit.

Touring box also sorted.

Gloss coats done and polish up completed.
Detail parts on the saddle bags and touring box done and done.

The saddle bags then fitted to the frame and then said frame installed on the bike.

A dry fit of the touring box for a looksee as one does.

Side covers done and done

Outward and onward to the last page for the finish!

Oh Yes!!
