Plasticard, glue and a touch of the mini-drill doo-dads...

All Ya Need To Plug Dat Hole.

Whatho gang!
Well the hole in question is the diving bell/minisub bay.
Last time we left it after hacking a lump out, it looked summat like this...

So then, a wee bit of fiddlin' about required.
Some 0.5mm plasticard cut to rectangular shape for the ends of said bay.
Some marking, measuring and scalpel violence ensued and we have the end bits I want to begin with.

A decent start so onward.
Diving merrily into the spare plasticard drawer I dug out some embossed stuff which would fit the bill.

Taking this and gluing the pre-cut plasticard bits on.
Then some marking, trimming and drilling and it's about what yours truly was aiming for...more or less.

Pretty much the same deal perpetrated with the long sides.
A plate was cut from 1mm plasticard to make the 'roof' with a large hole cut into it.
The walls and ends then given the glue like treatment and it's just about there.

There is a reason for the hole in the roof plate and we'll get to that later on.

During the meantime, after just a smidgen of hole trimming, the bay was installed.
The edges of the bay left slightly pround of the hole as that will make trimming just a wee bit esier.
Fits nicely.

Okeodoke!
So a thin skim of filler applied all round and then left the hell alone.

Well that's all for this little update.
More to come gang but untill that time, you lot go easy now.
