Or At Least I Bloody Hope It Will!

A couple of coats on Tamiya semi-gloss black later and onward.
The ends have some nice detail so did something with those.
A bit of masking and a hefty drybrush in Tamiya copper followed by a light going over
with drybrush in Vallejo white gold got 'em sorted.

Historically accurate?
Not a bloody clue but looks nice to me so done and done.

Decorations added.
Round crests got a splash of black wash and gloss varnish.

Name plate before and after.
Some black wash and a drybrush on of red gold and it'll do.

Tsuba before end after deal.
Edges cleaned up to get shot of the moulding seam,
painted edge in Vallejo silver then Tamiya clear yellow and orange 50/50 mix to get the goldish colour back.
Then black wash, a white gold drybrush and varnish sealed.

Now to the blades and putting something resembling a hamon pattern on them.
Blade stripped of chrome, gloss black base and Alclad steel for the blade back ridge,
mix of steel and aluminium for the rest of the blade.

A mask of sorts that was just torn paper with some non-permanent spray adhesive applied.

Mask used both sides with a spray of Tamiya rattle can metallic silver.

One more thing to do.
The edge of the Hamon got some black was dotted on the line and
a cotton swab/Q-tip dabbed down it to blur the line a bit.

Blades done and varnish coated.

Works for me so okedoke.

Scabbard additions sorted out.

Scabbards with the hanging cord sorted out.
The end caps stripped of the chrome and done in Alclad polished brass.

Katana and Wakizashi assembled.
Pommels, grip ends and blade collars done in Alclad polished brass.

Last bits for this little turnout.
Cord bindings on the grips taken care of.

Short, sweet, to the point and done.
Not perfect but good enough for me as a quick and fun build.

And that's all she wrote for this deal.
Relatively fuss free apart from the fuss I made for myself but out of the box
they can look pretty anyway so no harm.
