A bit off the bottom.

Well It's Almost Right But...

One thing on the saucer section does need a stiff looking at.
And that be the lower sensor dome...thingy.

Well that's how the 'real' thing looks and this is the kit part.

Well close but not right on it.
So I could try scratch building it completely but 'fore that,
it's give the kit part a work over and see what we get time.
Now white plastic is a bit of a problem as it's not that easy to see what your doing.
So pinching the same part from a chase kit (moulded in blue) I had laying about and here we go.

Much additional 10thou plasticard,
scraping,
filing,
chiseling,
filling,
sanding etc. later...

Ok we're getting somewhere.
Now to sort the fitting as some additional plastic bits to be added and
best done when the part is on the model proper.
So a quick but of mini drill vandalism later and...

Once glued on the edge only to the lower
saucer section the rest of the stuff was added.
Then puttied and given a wee cleanup.

And after that lot, it remained to turn over the lower saucer part,
cut through the line of holes, remove the plastic,
cut and trim the four pegs and clean up the rough bits.
Like so...

A bit more work to be done on that part but that's for the next time.
The stock clear parts were used but the
spotlight holes were drilled out and squared up.

This will help when it comes down to the lighting and light leak stopping.
And all will be explained later so go easy troops and troopettes, next update...erm...later...some time :)
