In March 2011, the Refit U.S.S. Enterprise vanished...

In June 2013, She Returned...

Yep, we not done yet.

Well now, The story so far...
The person who was going to paint this will not be doing so
and the client has passed this back to yours truly to finish.
It's part of an ongoing deal but this lady is mine now and
will be serving as a bit of a test bed of sorts.

Simply put, this model will be the testing ground for the
Trekmodeler Refit Painting Guide and my DecalPro FX rubdown decals.

The Refit Painting Guide has already been purchased and a
review proper will be appearing next update.
As will a rundown for the rubdowns but for now, this...

So here is the beastie as she arrived back with me.

So first things first, remove the testing plugs off the nacelles
and pylons then wire up and fix the warp nacelles in place.
Which was done fairly swiftly.

And the contractual lighting test out.
Just gotta be done!

All good there.
Gave the deflector a run as well.

I know it looks like there's a hotspot light wise but that's
just the camera, it's properly even and diffuse
to the naked eye, trust me on that.

All the markings on the switchboard are still good.

And apart from a light dusting required, the hangar/cargo bay is all good.

So the plan then?
Well it's to get the full pearlescent paint job,
those colour's being red, green, blue and gold
in 100ml or almost 3.8oz bottles, those are on order as
are several cans of Tamiya fine white surface primer.
Mega fine sanding pads are already here.

A set of Aztek Dummy masking templates is already in my possession
for this so when the rest of the gear arrives,
we'll get to it!

I have it planned that this will get to fully finished ASAP
so I can get the painting thing for this model down and sorted for when it
comes around to doing the other Refit kit i'm currently
building for a client in Australia.

All good fun.

Well in finality for this page, the slightly dodgy vid
of the fully assembled thing going through
the lighting hoo-ha.

Should be playable by the youtube option...

And there we have it in all it's LED loaded up glory
If the vid is not playing in any way then by all means do the
right click, 'Save Target As...' thing on
this here waffle.
It's just a shade over 19.2MB in size should you wish to download it.

More to come in a while so untill then...

You go easy out there now gang!
